Supporting a Polish Family in Tragedy
Our Help for Justyna and Little Piotruś
In 2025, a heartbreaking tragedy struck a young Polish family from Flintshire. Krzysztof (30) and his 2-month-old daughter Natalka lost their lives in a road accident soon after returning to Poland. Justyna and her 3-year-old son Piotruś were left fighting for their lives.
PISC CIC had previously assisted the family with their move back to Poland and, after the tragedy, immediately joined efforts to raise funds for funeral costs, medical care, and psychological support.
Our director, Anna Buckley, together with Debbie Owen, attended the funeral in Gdańsk to represent our community’s solidarity and compassion.
This moment reminded us that in times of loss, humanity and kindness can unite us all.
Voices of Gratitude

“When my life turned upside down, I lost almost everything my savings, my confidence, and the people I thought I could trust. In that dark time, PISC CIC believed in me when no one else did. They listened, helped me find practical support, and gave me hope to rebuild my life."
Marcin K

“The hospital letters came only in English, we couldn’t understand. PISC found a translator who explained everything and helped us apply for health support. They treat us like family, not strangers.”
Paulina Z

“We arrived from Ukraine with nothing but one suitcase. PISC helped us find accommodation, schools for the children, and connected us with kind local families. Today, my kids laugh again. That means everything.”

Polish Heritage Day 2025
Celebrating culture, community, and connection in the heart of North Wales
This year’s Polish Heritage Day 2025 brought colour, warmth, and community spirit to Wrexham, as families and friends gathered to celebrate Polish culture, traditions, and unity. Organised with the support of PISC CIC and its Director Anna Buckley, the event showcased the strength and pride of the Polish and Eastern European community living in North Wales. The celebration took place in Wrexham town centre and featured an exciting line-up of performances, traditional food stalls, and family-friendly attractions. Visitors were treated to Polish music, dance, and handmade crafts, while local organisations joined to share information, offer support, and strengthen ties between communities. The joyful sounds of laughter and conversation in both Polish and English filled the air, creating a true sense of belonging.
The event also included special activities for children, performances by local Polish dance groups, and community workshops highlighting the importance of language, tradition, and heritage. Many attendees expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reconnect with their roots and introduce Welsh neighbours to Polish customs. Beyond the festivities, Polish Heritage Day reflected PISC CIC’s mission to support, connect, and empower Polish and Eastern European families across North Wales. The organisation continues to bridge cultures, offering guidance and compassion to those in need, and promoting collaboration between communities.
The 2025 celebration demonstrated how shared values of kindness, respect, and togetherness can build stronger neighbourhoods. It was a day of pride, emotion, and unity, a reminder that culture is not just something we remember, but something we live every day.
